What AeroCP is.
And what it isn't.

AeroCP is a personal flight-logging accessory. The terms below cover certification status, intended use, warranty, returns, and data handling. By using AeroCP you accept these terms.

TL;DR — AeroCP is a personal accessory, not certified avionics. Use it as supplemental information, never primary. You remain responsible for accurate logbook entries. Hardware is warranted for 12 months against manufacturing defects.

1. No certification

AeroCP is classified as a Personal Electronic Device (PED). It is not certified to any aviation standard including but not limited to TSO, DO-178C, DO-160, EASA ETSO, or CAAC equivalents. It is not approved for installation in certified aircraft.

Treat AeroCP like a phone, headset, or watch — carry it, mount it for personal reference, use the logs as a memory aid. Do not use it for navigation, traffic awareness, or any safety-of-flight decision.

2. Logbook use

AeroCP measures Hobbs-equivalent block time (engine-on to engine-off) and flight time (wheels-up to wheels-down) with ±5-second precision per leg. These values are suitable for honest self-reported logbook entries in most jurisdictions.

However:

You are responsible for the accuracy of your logbook. AeroCP cannot detect every edge case. Sensor failures, calibration drift, GPS dropouts, or unusual aircraft behavior may produce inaccurate times. Always verify before submission.

3. Electromagnetic compatibility

AeroCP passes FCC Part 15 unintentional radiator limits. Its BLE radio operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, clear of aviation communication (118–137 MHz), navigation (108–118 MHz), and transponder (1030/1090 MHz) frequencies.

However, any PED can in principle cause interference with sensitive installed equipment. If you observe radio interference correlated with AeroCP operation, power it off and report the incident.

4. Data collection & privacy

The device records: GPS positions (start/end of each leg only — not a continuous track), sensor signatures, engine event timestamps, and the aircraft registration you configured.

Storage locations:

Data is not uploaded to any cloud server unless you explicitly export to CSV and share the file. The CSV export is a manual step — you choose the destination (email, cloud drive, logbook software).

Firmware OTA downloads from cdn.andylixu.uk include no telemetry — we do not receive any record of which version your device runs or how often you update.

5. Warranty

Hardware is warranted for 12 months from delivery against manufacturing defects, covering:

Warranty does not cover:

6. Returns

Unopened units may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund (excluding shipping). Buyer pays return shipping for change-of-mind returns.

Damaged or DOA units will be replaced free of charge within 14 days of delivery. Report via email with photos within 14 days; we cover return shipping.

7. Limitation of liability

AeroCP is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall AeroCP or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of records, mis-recorded flight time, or any consequence of using AeroCP data in a regulatory submission.

Total liability for any claim arising from the use of AeroCP shall not exceed the purchase price of the device.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the product evolves. The current version is always at aerocp.andylixu.uk/en/disclaimer.html. Material changes affecting your rights will be communicated via email to verified buyers.
